Kaizen is a Japanese term for improvement or should I say small improvements applied to daily and social life for better results.
Any individual from any field will always try to make small changes to improve themselves in their daily life.
I was 102Kgs in Feb 2019 so I started going to the gym started to eat clean and today I lost about 15Kgs and plan to lose more by December, this is Kaizen applied in life to be the better version of what I was before.
Here I realized few things that to apply Kaizen you should know
- What my body looks like right now
- Where I want to be with my fitness goals
- What should I be doing to reach my goals
- Checklist to make sure I do all the necessary steps required to reach my goals
However this is not the case with programmers and at some point, it seems they just stop learning new things of their domain and then complain life just sucks OR they assume they know everything and we all know that assumption can lead to either overconfidence OR ego which is bad in any case.
After discussing this with few of my friends I realized that programmers are either given the same module to code just because they are good at that particular module OR the work pressure is so much that the margin for learning is zero, and the fact is your company will always demand you to upgrade yourself to the latest technology.
